Last night's episode of Criminal Minds had a thread about nightmares, and ended with this quote from Eugene Ionesco:
"Ideologies separate us. Dreams and anguish bring us together."
I couldn't help the association with the upcoming SXSW Interactive Panel "Us and Them: A blog conversation survival guide". Ideologies separate us because they ignore our lived experiences to create an abstract idea about how I, we, or this is or should be. Dreams and anguish bring us together because that is our lived experience. Part of my lived experience is this: I so want to be my own person, and I so want not to be alone. In my conversations with others I'd often like to be right, but I don't like to fight. It's a dilemma. Is there a middle way?
