Occasionally I get to keep up with news and events and I just learned that the Usability Professionals' Association has declared today to be World Usability Day. w00t! Let's hear it for users, uses, and above all, simple, direct, and usable technology design and implementation.
It's going to require a steady drip, drip, drip of resistance to the unusable, and insistence on only what's usable, to make progress here. So the next time you're flummoxed by a piece of technology it's time to realize that you are not the problem, it's just an unusable design.
